HDPE Dam Liners for Fish Ponds & Water Storage in Kenya
Our HDPE dam liners provide a reliable lining solution for farmers, aquaculture projects and agricultural water-storage systems.
They create a waterproof barrier between stored water and the surrounding soil, helping reduce losses caused by seepage.
They are suitable for both small and commercial projects and can be used for newly constructed ponds or existing ponds requiring a waterproof lining.
Suitable Applications
These liners are suitable for:
- Fish farming ponds
- Tilapia and Catfish production
- Farm dams
- Irrigation reservoirs
- Rainwater harvesting
- Livestock water storage
- Aquaculture systems
- Agricultural water reservoirs
- Greenhouse water storage
Available Thicknesses
0.5mm HDPE Dam Liner
A practical option for smaller and medium-sized ponds where the ground has been properly prepared.
Suitable for:
- Small fish ponds
- Backyard aquaculture projects
- Irrigation reservoirs
- Rainwater storage
- General agricultural water storage
0.75mm HDPE Dam Liner
Provides additional thickness and puncture resistance for more demanding agricultural applications.
Suitable for:
- Medium-sized fish ponds
- Commercial aquaculture
- Farm dams
- Irrigation reservoirs
- Livestock water-storage systems
1.0mm Heavy-Duty HDPE Dam Liner
Designed for larger and more demanding installations where greater material strength is required.
Suitable for:
- Large fish ponds
- Commercial aquaculture projects
- Larger farm dams
- Irrigation reservoirs
- Long-term agricultural water-storage projects
Available Roll Sizes
Choose from:
- 7m Γ 50m
- 7m Γ 100m
- 8m Γ 50m
- 8m Γ 100m
The wider rolls are particularly useful for ponds requiring greater side coverage or additional anchoring allowance.
Choosing the Correct Size
When calculating the liner required, do not use only the pond’s surface dimensions.
The liner must cover:
- The pond bottom
- Both side walls
- The full pond depth
- Additional material around the perimeter for anchoring
A simple guide is:
Required liner length = Pond length + (2 Γ depth) + anchoring allowance
Required liner width = Pond width + (2 Γ depth) + anchoring allowance
Always confirm the final measurements before cutting or ordering.
Ground Preparation
Proper preparation helps protect the liner and extend its service life.
Before installation:
- Remove sharp stones, roots and debris.
- Level and compact the pond surface.
- Ensure there are no sharp objects beneath the liner.
- Consider using fine soil, sand or a suitable protective underlay.
- Avoid dragging the liner across rough surfaces.
- Secure the edges properly after installation.
Why Use a Dam Liner?
Reduced Water Loss
A dam liner helps prevent water from disappearing through porous or sandy soil.
Flexible Installation
It can be installed in rectangular, square, circular or custom-shaped ponds.
Suitable for Aquaculture
A properly installed liner makes it easier to manage water levels, drainage, cleaning and fish-production systems.
Multiple Agricultural Uses
The same material can be used for fish farming, irrigation, livestock water storage and rainwater harvesting.
